I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
